A signatory of the Pelagos Charter, the town of Lavandou is home to a permanent exhibition that is open to the public every day throughout July and August (10:30 – 13:30 and 16:30 – 20:00).

The La Rochelle Aquarium is hosting a free exhibition that offers an insight into the marine mammals that live near our coasts. The exhibition includes photographs, casts of marine mammal bones and skeletons and a number of explanatory signs and panels. Free entry.

Watch whales and dolphins in their environment, learn about the threats they face and discover the work of the Pelagos team – four short films that to take you on a journey to the heart of the Sanctuary. On Thursday, June 27, the President of the Var Department’s Federation of Nautical Societies, Guy Hily, was given the symbolic title of first Pelagos Ambassador when he registered on the website.

The Pelagos Ambassadors are part of a new partnership program that will increase the number of groups working with Pelagos to raise awareness on and recognition of the Sanctuary as a protected site. This large book of photographs features stunning images by Frédéric Larrey and Thomas Roger, with text by Jean-Michel Bompar. The book is accessible to all audiences and provides information on the Mediterranean’s mysterious ecosystem and the biology of the animals that inhabit it.
